All Your Data Has Been Sold to Data Brokers

STEP 1 of my Program is removing your data from the data brokers. As you move throught the other steps of changing usernames and passwords, securing your accounts, etc. You don't want to do all the work just  for those changes to be right back on internet or dark web.

The types of data traded and sold go far beyond email addresses or shopping history. Brokers actively buy and sell details like:

 

- Social Security Number

- Credit Card Information

- Username and Passwords to Financial Institutions

- Birthdate

- Mothers Maiden Name

- Home Address

- Income Bracket

- GPS Location

 

Often, they collect this data through vague app permissions or buried consent language, which makes it hard for users to understand what they’re agreeing to.

These practices come with real consequences. When the wrong people access personal information, it can lead to identity theft, financial scams, stalking, and reputational harm. While we know it generates and targets individuals with millions of personalized ads, raising alarms about how easily it is to learn about us from a simple goolge or amazon search.  Some brokers also sort individuals into sensitive categories based on race, gender, religion, or income level—and use that to target more vulnerable populations. Unlike credit reports, these profiles are rarely available for review, correction, or deletion, leaving people exposed with few options.
